Important notice: Due to the catastrophic effects of the Beachie, Santiam, Lionshead, and Riverside Fires in 2020 and the 2021 Bull Complex Fire, about half of the trails featured in this book were severely impacted by fire, and some trails (particularly those in the Opal Creek region) are still closed. These closures may last for quite some time, and some hikes featured in this book may never reopen. Please consult the Willamette and Mount Hood and National Forest websites for more information. I am planning on releasing a new edition of this book in 2025 or 2026. - Matt
